Session Five

I can't even begin to say how proud I am of this one!

So, travel can be boring as hell, right? Well, not in MY session!!

The driver of the caravan's name is Mezra. He's a pretty nice guy. Didn't ask for much for the trip. Has a wife and kids. Makes an honest living. Pretty much just a kindhearted soul willing to help someone in need. So naturally Jaman and Chuddwick wanted to rob him and take the caravan for themselves. Yeah.

Basically, Jaman took notice of some mysterious crates that were also in the caravan and Mezra made the mistake of saying that the contents were highly classified and must be transported to Direon as soon as possible. This made Jaman want them and, when Jaman wants something, he takes it. So that meant the poor sap had to go, much to Fendir's contempt. Meanwhile, Chuddwick's being Chuddwick. Oh, did I mention that some old drunk named Jaro was living in the back of the caravan. He's a pretty awesome dude!

Now, Jaman decides to threaten Mezra in order to get him to hand everything over. No answer. He tries again and again, but nothing. So Jaman goes over to kill Mezra only to find him dead with a hole in his head. (Overworld note: Matt was kinda stunned and impressed. I call that a victory).

All of a sudden, eight kobolds appear, armed with spears and slings. Jaman, who speaks draconic, tries to communicate with them (we used a notepad to talk since the others can't understand). Basically, Jaman tries to offer them Jaro, but they refuse. The fight ensues. The shining moment was when Jaro haphazardly throws the bottle at a kobold... and hits... and that only only had 1 HP... yeah... Unfortunately, Jaro did not survive the battle. RIP.

Seven of the kobolds were killed, and the other was taken as a prisoner. He tried to plea for death, but the party just knocks him out and takes him with them. They find the crates were full of scrolls written in an unknown tongue, though Jaman was still ecstatic because he's a scrollophile or something. Our "heroes" then continue to drive the caravan to Direon.
